| The Acura EL was released in Canada in 1996 as an "entry-level" compact luxury sedan. It replaced the Integra in the Canadian market, while the Integra continued to be sold in the United States until 2001. The EL turned out to be Acura's biggest seller in Canada, just as the Civic (the EL's "cousin") was Honda's biggest seller. All EL class vehicles were constructed at the Honda manufacturing plant in Alliston, Ontario, also the home of the Civic. The EL series also became the first Acura built in Canada. Finally, the EL was replaced in the 2006 model year by the Acura CSX, which is also only available in Canada.
